With Bulletin System, reaching your subscribers is a “sure thing.” The message displays immediately upon browsing, no matter where the subscriber browses. Consider and compare Bulletin System versus the other mediums used to communicate with the subscriber; direct mail or telemarketing campaigns are expensive, labor-intensive, and often untimely. Even other on-line mediums are not as reliable, given that Internet providers typically know fewer than 50% of actual subscriber email addresses, and, even if Providers have a popular portal, there is no way to drive subscribers to check it for new information…until now.
The most popular message display mode used by Bulletin System customers is the framed message, preferred because it does not overlay the subscriber’s requested content, nor does it detour the subscriber’s route to his requested site. Providers choose the screen position (top, right side, or bottom) and the size of the display. Bulletin System also supports other common delivery formats: pop-ups, pop-unders, and interstitials (full-screen insertions), if desired.
The subscriber’s requested destination page remains unaltered in any way, viewable, and scrollable.
Bulletin System needs no cookies or software on the subscriber’s PC. It works with any type of PC and any browser. It operates properly even if one or more NAT/Wi-Fi routers or firewalls are in place.
To create messages, Bulletin System includes a GUI-based bulletin generator and a set of custom, Provider-specific templates. An easy import tool also permits any existing HTML-created content to be used, including rich-media and streaming video. Bulletin System can also generate automated messages for certain applications, such as emergency or Amber alerts; the lack of any required manual intervention ensures that the emergency alert is delivered immediately upon receipt by Bulletin System via standard, national EAS decoders or any specified medium such as an RSS feed.
Providers can specify scheduling options for message delivery that determine start/end dates and times, one-time delivery or frequency by seconds up to months, sequencing of messages for campaigns, or round-robin message delivery. Bulletin System tracks and time-stamps the delivery of messages to each user individually, for reporting purposes. Unlike email, out-of-date, undelivered messages are never viewed by subscribers. Using Bulletin System, once the specified time window for a message delivery has passed, an undelivered message simply expires.
Messages can be targeted by individual, groups or sub-groups, or the entire subscriber base. Any demographic, geographic, or network information available to the Provider can be used for targeting purposes. Triggers from back office or other programs, RSS feeds, etc. can be set up to initiate targeted, automated message creation and delivery.
Providers may assign any message to a category (of which there may be an unlimited number), and optionally permit the subscriber to opt out of that category of message. For example, Amber alerts may comprise a category, and the Provider may permit the subscriber to opt-out of receiving Amber alerts. On the other hand, for example, the Provider may elect not to allow opt-out of PC virus alert messages.
Several methods are used to ensure real-time, coordinated subscriber ID resolution. This feature is essential for targeting and tracking message delivery, in addition to maintaining opt-out preferences over time. Strict attention to subscriber ID resolution ensures that the subscriber does not receive unwanted or duplicate messages, for example, due to previously having been assigned a different IP address.
