PERFTECH TRIPLES PERFORMANCE AND CAPACITY WITH NEW RELEASE; INTRODUCES NEW HIGH-END PRODUCT LINE

(San Antonio, TX, Aug 30, 2011) – PerfTech, the leading supplier of in-browser subscriber communications for Internet Service Providers (ISPs), announces the Bulletin System MX product line, and the Version 3.1 release of its Bulletin System software. The major enhancements of Version 3.1 include 1) a new power-safe file system, 2) advanced capabilities to customize bulletin content and to target bulletin recipients, and 3) conservatively, triple the previous performance and capacity of its devices. These new capabilities enabled the company to expand its current product offering and introduce the Bulletin System MX product line, a line geared for networks of millions up to tens of millions of subscribers. The new release has been in trial or production use for up to six months by three top-tier PerfTech customers.

Leaps in Performance, Capacity
The Version 3.1 software achieves significant performance advances by taking advantage of a completely re-architected network stack. The Bulletin Director family now supports up to 2M subscribers per stackable 1RU device, providing virtually any capacity with relatively few devices.

Advances in Customizing and Targeting with No Impact to Performance
New Version 3.1 functionality applied to Bulletin System’s integrated database allows ISPs to: 1) personalize in-browser bulletin content for more meaningful messaging, 2) streamline policy creation and management, and 3) enhance targeting selection by forming recipient groups dynamically based on variable criteria.

Note that Bulletin System has always supported dynamically-customized message content through the use of server-side web content—a mechanism, however, that is often non-scalable; performing millions of simultaneous requests upon a central exterior server can be performance-prohibitive. However, with Version 3.1, there is virtually no penalty to performance when customizing content or automatically generating a recipient group, even across multi-millions of simultaneous message operations. The information needed to dynamically construct and target a message is integrated and distributed within the Bulletin System platform, resulting in efficient, flexible, scalable, and extremely fast operation.

Bulletin System MX Geared for Very Large Networks
The Bulletin System MX line offers very large Internet providers a scalable approach to meet the most complex network-architecture challenges. MX licensing is tied to a simple user count for the manager component of the system, rather than an aggregation of individual pre-packaged licenses for subcomponents. Component Bulletin Directors, designed to see redundant IP’s, are now sized by the IP traffic throughput rather than unique subscriber counts. The MX line achieves a-la-carte flexibility, ultimately providing a more cost-effective solution for large-scale operators.
