QUICK STATS: A FRESH LOOK AT LATE-PAY REMINDERS

One of the most popular use-cases of PerfTech’s in-browser messaging platform continues to be late-bill-pay reminders.  Here, we take a look at how they are being used at a top-tier ISP customer for the year 2018 so far, January through August (8 months).  In general, upon being tagged as delinquent, a subscriber is placed on a recipient list for the late-bill-pay campaign.  The campaign consists of 3 consecutive, in-browser messages, each of which contains slightly stronger wording and headings.  Message 1 is delivered for 2 days, after which Message 2 is delivered for 1 day, followed by Message 3.  Upon receipt of payment at any time during the campaign, the subscriber is removed from the recipient list.

There are two perspectives by which to gauge effectiveness of the campaign:first, track how many recipients link immediately to pay from the message, and secondly, track how many fewer recipients are delivered notices from one message to the next. Read more .…

QUICK STATS: EASE MODEM SWAPS WITH TIMELY SELF-INSTALL INFO

As demand for streaming broadband grows steadily, ISPs continually launch modem upgrade campaigns to keep subscribers outfitted with the latest equipment and greatest speeds.  Several aspects of these campaigns rely on effective reach and communication with the subscriber, including:  awareness of new modem capabilities, availability, how to acquire and how to install.  In fact, modem swap campaigns have become one of the most frequently requested use cases for PerfTech’s in-browser messaging.

Beginning this May, one major ISP customer began delivering in-browser messages to inform subscribers that new modems were being shipped to them free-of-charge.An important factor is to coordinate delivery windows with opportune information on how to self-install, with the goal to help the subscriber get up and running quickly while minimizing the call load to customer support. The in-browser message includes a link to see instructions to do just that. SABJ INTERVIEWS PERFTECH’S JONATHAN SCHMIDT

Following up on a patent award recently granted to PerfTech, the San Antonio Business Journal (SABJ) requested an interview that was fielded by PerfTech co-founder and VP Jonathan Schmidt, point-man for the company’s bank of patent filings and awards.

Jonathan, formerly an EVP of Research and Development at Datapoint Corporation in the 80’s, related the history of the team of engineers who began careers there and remained together through several decades and two successful startups.  The team, some of whose members helped pioneer ARCNET and essentially local-area networking, has become a prolific hub of technical innovation, hiring and mentoring new talent along the way.  Of the two dozen patents that the team has been granted since PerfTech was founded in 2001, the most recent relates to technology that counts devices behind a Wi-Fi router and thus can help a telecommunications operator detect Wi-Fi-account sharing by Internet subscribers.

The article was published in SABJ’s July 6, 2018, issue.

PERFTECH CLOSES Q2 WITH NEW AND EXPANSION ORDERS

PerfTech received two new business orders during Q2, 2018:

  • a complete, in-browser messaging system purchase by a mid-western regional operator who supplies Internet, cable TV, and phone service to a multi-state area
  • a product-line migration and significant license expansion by an existing, long-time PerfTech customer who operates in over 20 states

To ensure full coverage of its subscriber base and allow for future growth, PerfTech’s existing customer elected to add a large license expansion while it additionally migrates to Bulletin System’s most current version.  To further simplify operations, the upgraded system will also take advantage of PerfTech’s Virtual Manager.   Both customers will use and continue to use PerfTech’s customized messaging platform to engage subscribers directly regarding time-critical service information.
